This Jijamata Kala Mahavidyalaya was started 19 years ago by local farm community as they saw the need for a college in this underdeveloped area. The Institution Jijamata Kala Mahavidyalaya, Darwha District - Yavatmal began in 2001-02. There are more than 289 students studying in these institutions and provides education towards Bachelors Degree in Arts. The Society works as a sculptor to mould the child of one and quarter year old into the full grown up, cultured young person, able to face the world

Thakare (M.L.A) was the Ex- minister of state in the Home ministry & Power ministry of Maharashtra & Ex- president of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee.
